In a landmark achievement for private higher education, Eduvos has announced that it welcomes an unprecedented 20,000 students for the first intake of the 2025 academic year, culminating from over 53,000 applications. This remarkable milestone not only highlights the institution’s increasing popularity but also underscores a significant shift in South Africa’s educational landscape.
Eduvos’s expansion reflects a commitment to academic quality and an enriching student experience, drawing attention amid a national trend where private institutions are now attracting more enrolments than their public counterparts.
“This year’s remarkable enrolment numbers are an endorsement of our commitment to providing quality higher education that meets the evolving needs of industry and our students, and to our remarkable staff” said Siegie Brownlee, CEO, Eduvos.
“We’ are so proud to be part of South Africa’s educational transformation, offering accessible, relevant curricula that empower students to thrive in an increasingly competitive world.”
Despite this record-breaking intake in Block 1, Eduvos still offers three further opportunities for students to commence their studies throughout the year:
Block 2 – May/June 2025
Block 3 – July/August 2025
Block 4 – September/October 2025
The surge in interest towards Eduvos mirrors a broader national trend; over the last decade, demand for private higher education in South Africa has doubled.
Eduvos provides more than 20 accredited qualifications across five of its future-focused faculties: Applied Science, Commerce, Humanities, Information Technology, and Law. In tandem with conventional bachelor’s and honours degrees, Eduvos offers postgraduate diplomas, higher certificates, and online short courses, ensuring inclusivity for a variety of student backgrounds. Recognising that students often face barriers to entry, Eduvos also implements bridging programmes and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathways to accommodate those with prior experience seeking further education.
Beyond its commitment to academic excellence, Eduvos continues to support its students financially through partnerships that offer creative solutions like corporate sponsorships and income-share agreements. This initiative helps mitigate the financial burden of education, making quality learning more attainable for aspiring academics.
As a testament to its successful approach to higher education, Eduvos has received the prestigious PMR.africa Diamond Arrow Award for the second consecutive year, representing its status as the highest-rated private higher education institution in South Africa.
